Marc Appelt is the Managing Director for MAN Truck & Bus (M) Sdn Bhd (MAN Malaysia).
The Economics graduate, who hails from Northern Germany, has spent the past 20 years at MAN and brings with him a wealth of experience in revamping workshop operations and enhancing productivity.
As a member of the Commercial Board at MAN, he was in charge of driving sales and commercial activities all over the world.
His two-year stint as Finance Director based in MAN’s Bangkok office back in 2012-2013, which included regular visits to Kuala Lumpur, has endowed him with a deep understanding of the market in this region.
His last position was as Head of Human Resources for Sales and Marketing based at the headquarters in Munich.
In his current capacity, Marc is leading the charge in changing the mindset of transporters in Malaysia to understand and embrace the concept of True Sustainability. It is more than just about decarbonisation of freight transport through low-emission diesel engines and the adoption of battery-electric solutions.
True sustainability means prioritising quality and lifecycle value when investing in fleet assets and maximising return on investment by operating vehicles efficiently, reliably and responsibly over many years.
