Solihin Yusoff

Ahmad Solihin Yusoff is the Chief Executive & Managing Director of the German-Malaysian Institute (GMI), where he leads the Institute’s strategic direction, institutional development and transformation towards University Of Applied Science status. He brings extensive experience in corporate strategy, governance, financial and commercial management, and government and stakeholder relations. 

Prior to joining GMI, Solihin held senior leadership positions across the telecommunications, petrochemical, financial and manufacturing sectors, including Vice President at Lotte Chemical, Chief Strategy Officer at INext Petroleum & OilFields, and Director & Head of Commercial Management at Ericsson Pte Ltd. He began his career with American Express Malaysia and subsequently held corporate planning roles with Hong Leong Finance and PHN Industry Malaysia. 

At GMI, he established the Institute’s 10-year strategic blueprint for its transformation towards university status, championed asset maximisation and digital engagement initiatives, and introduced initiatives to strengthen internationalisation and industry relevance. Under his leadership, GMI recorded a 64% increase in student enrolment and a 207% improvement in profitability within his first year in office.
